This depends on the type of insurance purchased, and the selected start date. Some policies require a payment upfront, and others may let you choose as much as 30 days out. Most coverages are not guaranteed until the first premium is paid in full to start the policy. Exclusions or limits may apply, which are explained in the policy and over the phone if inquired. Which may also be dictated by the type of policy that you purchase.

Yes. That is sent by mail and email with most carriers that we write with. Some may require a delivery in-person, pending any requirements needed by underwriting. That happens typically when the policy went through a rate change due to findings in underwriting. A number of things can cause that to happen, but it also depends on the type of insurance that you choose to get.
